In this video, you will learn about wholesale tortillas. Here is a list of ingredients: 7 cups Ap flour, 2 and 3/4 cups warm water (90 to 100 degrees), 2/3 of cup lard (155 g), 3 Tsp salt (Morton), Extras: 2 Tbsp water and flour The first step is to mix all of these ingredients together except the warm water. Add more lard if needed to give it a thick consistency. Make sure you keep stirring until there are no more lumps in the mixture.
If you don’t want to use lard, you could substitute for shortening. Sometimes, shortening doesn’t make it taste as good. If you want to replace the lard with shortening, you’ll have to experiment around with the right amounts. Once it is mixed together and there are no clumps, make a little hole in the center and add your warm water. Don’t add the warm water gradually, you will want to add it all at once. Then, you’ll continue to mix and fold the ingredients together. There is a lot to know about making tortillas. If you are interested in learning more, keep watching this video for more information.
