Tools help people complete a great many jobs. In order for those tools to perform their jobs correctly, however, tool presetters must be accurate. Being able to use the right tool holders and machine tools to exacting standards helps to ensure production that is both profitable and error free. This is due to the fact that a tool holder is one of a number of different parts that are used when machining tools.
The machining industry continues to employ thousands of people in a variety of different jobs, including as tool presetters. In fact, during 2010, there were 939,700 people performing jobs in the machining industry. Some of these employees make tools such as the popular and well known clamping system known as the standard ER collet and the lathe.
A lathe that cuts screws was among the earliest tools. This tool has been dated back to around the year 1483. It used mechanics to directly control the path of the actual cutting tool.
